The Proprietor
Capitol Cellars was founded in 1985 when Marcus Graziano opened his first store in downtown Sacramento. A UC Davis graduate with degrees in Economics and International Relations, Marcus comes from a long history of wine — his grandparents migrated from Northern Italy, bringing their grape-growing knowledge to Northern California.
While interning with the California Manufacturers Association, Marcus realized he could assist colleagues with his wine knowledge. That insight became Capitol Cellars.

Marcus Graziano opens his first store in downtown Sacramento, bringing his UC Davis expertise and family heritage in winemaking to the public.
Marcus becomes the wine consultant to the U.S. Senate, commuting to D.C. monthly to curate selections for government officials.
Capitol Cellars relocates to Gold River, expanding operations and deepening relationships with Napa and Sonoma winemakers.
The business finds its permanent home in Granite Bay, evolving into the premier fine wine retailer and cellar consultancy it is today.
